The public is invited to welcome Stephen Nicastro, author of the book “The French Niece,” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22nd at the Cape May City Public Library, Ocean & Hughes Streets in the City of Cape May.
“The French Niece”, Nicastro’s first published book, is a fictional tale of a nineteen-year-old French girl who comes to live in America in the 1880’s. The book tells of the conflicts and adjustments of her Bohemian morals and disposition, necessary for an adaptation to the rigid manner of behavior in a very Victorian society. Like so many other immigrants, the empowerment development in her past now combines to the integrity and richness of her new life. (From Barnes and Noble Booksellers)
Stephen Nicastro will speak about how he got his start in writing and will read a short excerpt of his book. Nicastro attended Queens College School of General Studies and Programming, Systems Institute in Manhattan. Though most of his career was as a toolmaker, later in life he attended various writers’ guilds where he wrote novels, short stories and plays.
Books will be available for sale and autographing. For additional information please call 884-9568 or visit the library’s website www.cmclibrary.org
