The Cape May County Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce that MARCH IS AMERICAN RED CROSS MONTH. To celebrate we are hosting a night at Avalon Links Restaurant on March 29, 2008 from 6-9 pm. The ticket price of $25.00 per person includes live entertainment, door prizes, great buffet, beer and soft drinks. A cash bar is available.
The Cape May County Chapter American Red Cross which does not receive funding from the government, the National Red Cross or the United Way serves the residents of Cape May County. Funds received from this event will enable the chapter to provide services to the community. Volunteers assist families affected by local disasters by providing food, clothing and shelter depending on the family’s individual needs. Emergency communications are provided for members of the armed forces and their loved ones at home. The local chapter coordinates the Operation Fireside Program –which pairs USCG Recruits to local families for Christmas or Thanksgiving. Volunteers provide CPR and First Aid Training as well as water safety and Life guard training. Volunteers assist with the collection of Blood donations.
