A program presented by Don Freiday of the Cape May Bird Observatory at the Main Branch of the Library will help you get started in bird watching. The program will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12 at the library located at 30 Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.

Find out why bird watching is the nation’s fastest growing outdoor activity and learn how to enjoy this leisure recreation. The program will cover how to choose and use binoculars, which bird field guide is best for you, and where and when to look for birds. The identification of Cape May’s ten most commonly seen birds will be covered, and participants will be able to find and identify others. A free checklist The Birds of Cape May County and a Cape May Birding Map will be available.
